These photos with the exception of the last one were taken, once again, in my backyard. The final and forth photo belongs in the series to offer a more complete “picture.” Why mislead and why be self deceived, that all is well? Perhaps,

All manner of thing shall be well
as wrote T. S. Eliot in the concluding lines of his poem Little Gidding. Perhaps in some future eternal state beyond time, “the fire and the rose are one.” Such is not our condition now, and it serves no purpose to fantasize that it is.
Parents, grandparents, extended families are grieving inconsolably the loss of their children in Uvalde, Texas.
The war in Ukraine grinds on. War. (I have no idea what that word means) Ukrainian President Zelensky, after repeated requests, has been granted the latest in artillery weaponry from the United States. Will this be enough to turn the tide?
