A winter view of marshland, dormant tall grass, is the norm for this time of year.
A friend invited me to join him at the Orchid Show at the Chicago Botanic Society. Both of us are photo buffs. How could I not take the opportunity? Perhaps I should not confess my indifference to the orchid. The plants are native to tropical climates, and many varieties are sought by collectors. I’ve always noted orchids at Home Depot but have never purchased one.
The Orchid Show was breath taking. Peering through a camera lens at the stamen and pistil of the orchid blossom is peering into the womb of god. I guess that would make god female, a divine flower. That seems about right.
