Light, Light In A Maelstrom of Hate
The sun rises predictably, warm, glorious. The gift of light is the life source for our entire planet. Light precedes us. What are we going to do with life? Will we honor and cherish the wonder of being here, being a center of consciousness? Or are we choosing to plunder? The decision is presented anew with each day. The matter is never settled. This is the ancient dilemma, the “deal” presented to Eve in the garden. “You will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Some deal! It has turned out to be a awful burden. We are all Sisyphus, our rock is always there to be rolled up the mountain one more time.
Today friends that I know well, join the festival of hate on the internet, adding their voices to the “we have to kill them all” chorus. Our president barrels his way across the Middle East and Europe, saying whatever randomly comes to mind. I caught a fragment of a report this morning that the Germans were threatened with crippling tariffs for importing too many automobiles to this country. Never mind that the German brands have been highly prized for engineering excellence for a long time.
And so it goes.
But there are still points of light. Here is one that has worked for me for a long time.
