What Comes True In The End?
Showers today. Should I mind. Of course not. It is enough to remain in my circle of responsibility, of duty and concern. Weather, and the machinations of governments whether in Chicago, or in Washington are affairs upon which I have no effect. Is anyone in charge? Likely nobody. Office holders moving about as marionettes, stringed figures, expressions and body language massaged for PR consumption; — there’s no one at home really, possibly a tragic subjection to cause and effect.
So, today I’ll attend carefully to those closest to me, my wife and closest friend, and to the circle of friends that gathers here at Starbucks morning by morning. The life that I possess, is surely “made” by those individuals. How could it be any other way, this reciprocity, the give and take?
Perhaps I will go-for-a-walk this afternoon with camera at hand. What might I be fortunate to observe, to photograph of nature, when I pay attention?
To conclude, this tune by Pat Benatar fills me with happiness and hope: Shadows of the Night. Indeed are we all not “running” in the hope that dreams come true in the end? I like the funky dancing cartoon advising us to “please wait” as Neil Giraldo plays the instrumental bridge… Enjoy!
