Organizers Hunger & Death
“It’s a mass exodus.”
Rodrigo Abeja, who is also with Pueblo Sin Fronteras, said extreme poverty and unchecked gang violence have driven migrants to leave their homeland.
“The organizer of this caravan is number one hunger, two death,” he said.

We must put out the excess rather than the fire.—Heraclitus
Today excess is heaped upon excess,
desensitization to shock images,
and the meaningless words
shatters the world stage.
Pitless art shows the impropriety
of profaners and torturers,
the arrogance of the executioner. The words pity and piety
are consubstantial.
To suffer with or sympathize with?
That is a question that concerns both ethics and aesthetics.—A Pitless Art by Paul Viriliio
Are we a people, a nation without pity? Sometimes it seems so. Our President and his administration are manifestly without pity. His supporters try to overlook his bloviating, unsubstantiated assertions about these people walking from their homes in Central America, through Mexico in the hope that somehow they will be allowed to cross the border into our country. The president warns of terrorists, middle eastern individuals, among these individuals…… As always his meaningless words are uttered simply for effect, as the midterm elections are looming.
We are a prosperous people, a nation of excess, by many comparisons. We could use these immigrants for the work that is to be done. While visiting my hometown of Durham North Carolina I observed a transformation of construction-development, and of energy on the streets. Durham is quickly becoming a city of shining light.
At the same time are we becoming a nation without pity?
That is a question that concerns both ethics and aesthetics.

If the natives in this continent had secured their borders they would still be around in larger numbers instead of being genocide victims. Those poor persecuted Europeans were coming to this continent for a better life also.
Peter, good to hear from you.
The American Indians had no borders. Their way of life was nomadic, they moved around. Also they did not have the means to resist the incursion of Europeans. But you should know all of this.
Yes some of the Europeans were persecuted, and immigrated in order to live without terror. Others came with more wide ranging intent to take whatever they were capable of taking/stripping from the land and from the indigenous people. The descendants of this “European tribe” constitute the current administration in the White House and congress. You seem to throw in with the crowd that continues to seek plunder. Am i wrong?
