Another Day By The Lake
A few photographs capture the memory of a day of being out and about in the wine country of Michigan. Everyone gets to be a child again while on vacation. We will not forget the time spent at Bumbelberry Acres picking blueberrys, and the visit to the petting zoo. We heard the story of Bubba the pet pig, that “developed a eating disorder” and could no longer move around due to weight gain. They put the pig on a vegetable diet and now it is Ok.
The lake is close at hand always inviting for a swim. We collected interesting pebbles, each one polished by wave action and sand to bring out the beauty of time and substance. We found a single moth that happened to land upside down on the wet sand, and there it died, a fragile beauty.
At the end of the day we went for one more swim at sunset. The sun set was lovely in the west behind the cloud bank. This photo was taken a few minutes before sunset as the family waded into the lake for a final swim of the day.
The day concluded with a marshmallow roasting contest. Who could roast the most delicious marshmallow without catching fire to the treat over the open flame. Lots of fun and many memories.
