Eternal Return
Didn’t post yesterday. Rare circumstances on occasion are more important than having something to say. Failing to add more words here causes no tremor in the fabric of the cosmos… The challenge of finding some good words to describe an emotional response, or to express an idea received from a writer more worthy than I, is a welcome friction which I miss – if circumstances are not propitious.
I spent the day keeping company with two of our grand kids. How could I say no? There’s no conceivable reason that would justify passing on the opportunity to enjoy their company. Children are arrows loosed into a future, a target invisible to us. With practice and a steady hand, the support of grandparents adds up, makes a difference. At least that is the faith that I live by.., Is this something that is proven, guaranteed?
Of course not.
A note about the photographs. A feature of the day was a baking session in the kitchen. I confess that I have no expertise with cake mix and baking tools. My wife supervised and coached the process forward. A collection of generously frosted cupcakes was the result. Pictured is the sculpture of cake and frosting created by our artist-grandson. I tasted the frosting. It was good.
