Farmer’s Market
Yesterday was Saturday. An enjoyable summertime activity is our Batavia Farmer’s Market. We have a casual acquaintance with several of the vendors that we have patronized often. The breakfast taco prepared by the owners of El Taco Grande is just right, and I feel fortunate to be their customer.
While eating our breakfast taco we listened to a young female with an acoustic guitar cover Landslide, a favorite tune written by Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. I was particularly moved by the lyric. Here is what I felt. Though life is a landslide, nevertheless– as each climbs his or her own mountain, soon enough, one turns around to assess the journey you’ve taken. With the passage of time we understand how the “individual that we were” shaped the path that we had to take… One feels not just a wistful nostalgia, but compassion toward ourselves, and gratitude for parents and teachers and friends.
I placed a generous tip into the vocalist’s tip-jar.

El taco grande is still open!? This is great news! Good for them!! I was friends with the brothers, and ate at the restaurant a couple of times a month during the 10 years I spent in St. Charles (95 to 05)! Now I’m hungry! Thanks, Jerry! 😀
