If The Weather Permits
I like you, tend to be distracted by the posturing, the theatrics, the spectacle of politicians and admen jockeying for more power in our media infused way of life. As I observe those around me, it seems that most of us are about to fall into those small screens we hold in our hands, the iPhone. The “world” revolves around each of us, but it is a faux world, a world of images, served rapid fire by corporations contracted to degrade certain commitments, and to forge certain alternative allegiances.
All the while the planet, Nature moves as it does. If we are blessed with enough rain and a warm spring and summer — then we have a good harvest. If not…… It has always been this way. My grandfather knew this, but then he was a farmer. If the weather is hot and dry for several years, then it is likely that great fires will erupt, the consequence of a scarcity of moisture, and a lot of tinder. Thus this morning I read in the Sacramento Bee about a wild-fire that is consuming the town of Paradise, a town of 27,000 residents. In drought stricken California, fire is weather.

From the story tellers point of view, the weather transcends all. Weather, Climate, is the limit and possibility of life itself.
