Plague Journal, Mid Spring Beauty
Yesterday was a day of wind and showers. These days of mid spring are fleeting and I did not want to delay taking pictures of flowers that I noticed in the neighborhood. I did my best given the wind to capture pictures of blooms along a white picket fence around the yard next door. Certainly they (the flowers and the neighbor) did not mind that I made a slightly more permanent memory of the ephemeral beauty of this spring? Here are the photographs. The last two in the series were taken at a nearby park, wild flowers in bloom and a Momma bird resting patiently on the nest, waiting for the propitious arrival of new life. The Daddy bird, close at hand in the tree was making a noise, no doubt because a strange biped mammal was too close under the tree.
How about a tune to carry us through the day! This one is a anthem of resistance and of triumph. Friendships, close relationships are difficult. Friction is inevitable, two individuals bearing the marks of different histories, attempt to make a common history. Perhaps that is the ultimate art-form?! Difficult, time consuming, worthwhile…..
