Stacked Odds, A Man, And His Will To Survive
Another day in paradise. I say paradise ironically. We live East of Eden, outside the gates of paradise. Or to put it another way with a lyric line from Hotel California, “This could be heaven or this could be hell…”
I heard about the cruise missile strike on the Syrian airbase. Shortly afterward I saw a video clip of the Presidents announcement of the action for which he is ultimately responsible. It appeared to me there was a disparity, a wide gap between his facial expression, body language and the aggressive testosterone-laced statement. His impassive face said “WTF have I done?” A number of missiles spooled up from two destroyers to obliterate what reportedly was an already evacuated airbase. All of this to make a point. The point being, “You must not use certain prohibited weapons in the advancement of your day to day slaughter.” Not exactly the act of compassion that the Presidents surreal statement claimed that it was. The Syrian conflict and killing continues apace.
I was strangely comforted by the throbbing beat and the lyric of Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor this morning. Life itself is by definition a negotiation of competing forces. This must be accepted. The trick is acceptance with compassion, not to add to, to exacerbate the violent environment within which we may find ourselves. We can tamp down, mitigate the violence even if we must live with the competing demands of life. Enjoy!
I love the eyes and the camo coloring of these big cats. Perhaps this is why nature has such seductive appeal? Nature just is; there is no subterfuge, cant, dissimulation, –and no pity.

One is always in strange territory when trying to figure out Trump’s body language and motivations. It could be entirely true that the recent chemical attacks were the first time Trump had actually heard about the hundreds of thousands of civilians killed in Syria over the last several years, and he decided he needed to take action.
The press, failing liars or otherwise, seem mostly filled with praise. Bannon is shuffled to the side. Other issues are forgotten next to the reality of war.
Indeed. Misdirection is the name of the game. (Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.)
And that man behind the curtain is most likely Vlad. Smoke & mirrors, all of it.
