The Lazy Ballerina
One of the features of the south west of the State of Michigan are the fruit farms and the vineyards. Conditions are agreeable for this type of farming. We have visited the Bumbleberry farm several times to pick blue berries and I always come away with the conviction that I have received much more in good memories than what I paid for the blue berries that I picked.
The Lazy Ballerina Winery is another favorite of ours. We’ve never actually visited the site of the winery in Bridgeman Michigan. Our experience has to do with the tasting room located in St. Joseph Michigan.
I confess that I have a weakness for fruit flavored wine. While visiting St Joseph Laura and I stopped in, and after chatting with the friendly, knowledgeable female behind the counter, purchased two glasses of Sweet Nina’s Red. We spent about 45 minutes relaxing, sipping the wine which had a robust sweet concord grape flavor.
Visiting a winery and learning about the wine making business alone would make the short drive to this area worthwhile.
