There Is No Plan B
Sunday morning almost 9 AM and a steady rain falls. Days of gentle rain are few it seems to me. Weather seems more hot. Rain comes after extended dry spells, in a torrent. Climatologists expect the trend to continue. What is to be done? That is the question.
Life requires incremental exchange. A rapid, violent onslaught involves stress to the system, whether that of my tomato plants, or to my body. Smooth and steady is the sweet spot of efficiency, conserving energy, — everything to good use.
Here is a song to inspire, a tune that we can hold onto. What would we do without music? That is an absurd question. Have humans ever been without song? Before there was writing, there were itinerant balladeers, the poets who dedicated to memory the great tales of a people’s survival. (Now you can find them on Spotify.) We all need a muse do we not?
You have to believe that we… If all of your hopes survive, destiny will arrive…
Magic
By Olivia Newton-John
Come take my hand
You should know me
I’ve always been in your mind
You know I will be kind
I’ll be guiding you
Building your dream
Has to start now
There’s no other road to take
You won’t make a mistake
I’ll be guiding you
You have to believe we are magic
Nothin’ can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don’t let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive
I’ll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I’ll bring all your dreams alive
For you
From where I stand
You are home free
The planets align so rare
There’s promise in the air
And I’m guiding you
Through every turn
I’ll be near you
I’ll come anytime you call
I’ll catch you when you fall
I’ll be guiding you
You have to believe we are magic
Nothin’ can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don’t let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive
I’ll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I’ll bring all your dreams alive
For you
Hey!
You have to believe we are magic
Nothin’ can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don’t let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive
I’ll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I’ll bring all your dreams alive
For you

So sad to have just read of Olivia Newton John’s passing, right before I saw this song in this blog. She was a great singer who connected with people and a hero of strength from all she went through in her long battle with cancer.
May her memory be a blessing.
Jeff, some well expressed words. Her songs gave a positive impetus to my journey. I find that when an artist of my generation passes, there is a sadness, though I never knew them personally. It is as if someone who helped shape my world is absent, and I am more alone without them.
