Tuesday
Full sunlight this morning.
A dramatic contrast to the top story on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Major retailers such as Walmart and Kroger are to start charging suppliers penalty fees on account of late deliveries. With supply chains being extended so far, not just nationwide but as far as assembly plants or farm fields in Mexico, with weather, and the possibility of mechanical breakdown– the mind boggles to imagine the investment required to reduce the incidence of late delivery. Elimination of late delivery is impossible, much like achieving the speed of light.
The voracious appetite of Capitalism continues apace. The squeeze of competition tightens delivery windows. Nothing can be left on the table. It stands to devour it’s own children.
