I know that you are resisting the impulse to ask. That is a mass air flow sensor for a 2.0 liter Suzuki motor. The part is important for the fuel/air mixture that is the basis for engine performance. Where was the part manufactured? China. I shopped for the part online, and it was delivered a few days later. I am not a supply chain expert but I do know that a number of livelihoods were supported by the production, shipping, warehousing, and the selection of that part when I placed my order. I used my credit card to make payment, another “miracle.”
I took the part out of the box and reflected for a long second or two. This part will be substantially more expensive in the very near future. A few days ago our President decreed a twenty five percent tariff on products of China. He seems to have thought that the Chinese are mandated pay the tariff, if you go by his over-the-top gesticulating, confusing commentary on the effect his tariffs would have on U.S-China trade policy. Yesterday one of his retainers, Larry Kudlow was sent out to confess that American consumers are the ones who will pay the tariff.
Is the President insane? Were we insane to have elected him?
Perhaps we ought not to forget, that ignorance, the yawning abyss of ignorance is a core component of insanity.
