SURRENDER

Not as defeat
As release
Letting one’s self go
To unknown possibilities.
The problem with doing—
It’s headlong, voracious,–
More and more, over and over.
We just do what
We have always done.

One must die to rise anew:
We cannot hold to this reality
Which we are offered.
It suffocates us.
We must let go.

We must hold to the thread,
The thread of our imagination,
Each of us to find a way through.
We loop our threads together,
Since life is the experience
Of our connection
With one another.

So here we are together.
