A Prayer

A Prayer

“Help me to forget today’s pain…….”

Tuesday mid-afternoon and the empire staggers on.  Too melodramatic?  I hope so.  I heard snippets of a report from the fires in Northern California.  Santa Rosa is incinerated in the wind lashed wild fire.  Wine country burns.  At the very same time our head of the EPA is abolishing regulation that would reduce the burning of coal by power plants.  Pruitt and his fellow travelers think that simply believing is enough to make something fact.  Weather patterns are involved in the devastating wild fires, as well as the mega hurricane winds with a unrelenting deluge that wrecked vital infrastructure, –from Texas and Florida to Puerto Rico.  More is certain to come.

And we are at the mercy of our climate-change-denying-mad-king-President.  Reason has limits.  Therefore we pray.
