What if your child is bullied at school or online?
It’s something every parent fears and while financial losses are likely not their first concern, a new insurance policy to be made available later this year will at least ease those worries.
Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance will start selling an insurance policy in October that covers up to ¥200,000 per case if a child is bullied at school or online, covering counseling fees and the costs associated with transferring schools, such as buying new uniforms and learning materials…
The cynical me imagines reaching out to the Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company to inquire as to the purchase of coverage for American society in entirety.
Bullies use ambush. Few of us, young or adult, anticipate being bullied. Whether in the work place or on the playground we assume that others are willing to “play well” with us. The exchange of good will is a pragmatic rule-of-thumb for getting though another day of school or another day of work.
Perhaps you’ve been bullied. One never forgets the anger and fear when you discovered that not everyone supports “peace, love and understanding.” The ambush, and the cruelty is never forgotten.
Yesterday a former President, a Bully-in-Chief was indicted by a New York grand jury, charged with 34 felonies. Republican members of congress in unison, asserted the charges were political persecution. Finally we have an opportunity to rid ourselves of this bully. We understand that he is not the only one.
In the fantasized phone conversation with the Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company, they’d likely make the point that America’s plight is a preexisting condition, and does not quality for insurance coverage.
There is another thing to note about insurance. Insurance prevents nothing.
