Music often elevates my spirit.

A catchy tune, and smooth lyrics launch me into a memory, or sometimes rotates the axis of my view point.  I tend to interpret reality in shades of gray.  I’d like to be optimistic.  I work at it.  But, my body, the experience that has accrued over the years imposes a bias toward the negative…  I don’t think this is a matter of reason at all.  Possibly, upbringing, chance has more to do with whether one is essentially a “positive” person, or whether one can never be the-life-of-the-party.

However when Dancing Queen by Abba is played over the streaming service, imagination fills with a scene of eternal youth and sizzling exuberance.

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music
Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music’s high
With a bit of rock music
Everything is fine
You’re in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance

You are the dancing queen

This one is thunder and lightning, – Alone by Heart.
