Nature And Freedom

Nature And Freedom

Vacation!

These images were taken yesterday. We spent a hazy afternoon swimming in Lake Michigan.

I enjoyed being at the lake. Honestly though, a persistent odor of burnt pine in the air was constant reminder of the terror represented by the administration occupying Washington, DC. At the moment circumstances are unpropitious for making overt resistance to the climate-warming-denying regime. Perhaps writing as I am able, is act of refusal to their program of “open season for maximum extraction” from parks and lands formerly set aside for the appreciation by future generations.

So, we focused upon our grand daughter’s joy in the freedom of learning to swim in Lake Michigan. She will remember this vacation as an unspoiled delight for the rest of her life.

Sadly that cannot be the same for me.
