Someone To Lean On

Someone To Lean On

With all the disruptions swirling around us, even if one is not directly impacted, — these are troubled times.  I am dismayed for my countrymen in Northern California, and in Puerto Rico.  Those who live in Houston and in the Florida Keys will suffer the hard labor of recovery for many months, perhaps years to come.  Indeed the reportage on real and speculative cause and effect of these and other storms and their aftermath goes on interminably in the media.  All of that is just so much noise, if you live in a devastated place and are without sufficient food, water, and shelter..

How priceless are friends, family, and especially that “someone to lean on.”  I’ve posted before on this song by the Chi-lites that peaked at no. 3 on the Top 100 Billboard Chart in 1971.  There is a universal truth in the lyric and in the sublime harmony of the tune.  Here is another fine video, a reminder that one thing alone is a fixed anchor point for your life, my life.
