The Day of Alchemy

The Day of Alchemy

“What the hell do you have to lose? Give me a chance. I’ll straighten it out. I’ll straighten it out. What do you have to lose?”

The mostly white crowd cheered.

Donald J Trump — appeal to Blacks and Hispanics, Ohio, Aug 22, 2016

I
In the world forever one
With the informing Love
That gives life to time,

In the day of alchemy,
Come round at last, transmuting
Corruption to pollution,

Transmitting lies to blindness,
And light to dark, the known
Destroyed in our unknowing,

Under the sun that shines
Beyond evil and good,
The goldeneye alights

On the cold river, Grace
Unasked, merely allowed,
Gleams round him on the water.
