Walk In The Rain

Walk In The Rain

October 1, 2018 Jerry King Comments 0 Comment

Yesterday afternoon with some time on my hands I decided to walk around Viking Park at the Gurnee Park District.  A light rain was falling.  The plantings in the park are well cared for.  A variety of tree species are planted to memorialize individuals; paving stones honor community organizations.  What better way to establish a memory than by planting a living tree.  All things pass in the grasp of time.  Since none deserves a pyramid, a tree is a sufficient statement, itself contributing beauty, nourishment, a presence to the earth and to humankind.

I took these pictures in a gently falling rain.  I protected the camera, removing the lens cap long enough to take the exposure.

Everything is in motion, the freeze-frame of the photo is the now obsolete image of light and surface, yesterdays news.

Today is a new and different day.  Everything is made new.
