Ways To Die Young

Ways To Die Young

August 8, 2018 Jerry King Comments 0 Comment

Another day of fiery destruction in California.  When Nature is shoved off balance by the heat sink of increased atmospheric carbon loading, the surface of the land warms without recovery from regular and gentle rains,–then the dry vegetation burns.  How many days have the weary fire fighters manned their fire lines while airborne tankers drop load after load of retardant?  The end is not in sight yet.

The anti immigrant propaganda continues to be driven on social media.  The tropes are picked up and distributed to otherwise sane people by acquaintances whose personal narrative is in sync with a need for someone to blame, for convenient victims.

The tariffs implicit in the Trump Trade War are beginning to bite and to be reported in the Times.  Smaller companies in particular cannot absorb the precipitous rise in cost of materials.  Expansion plans are on hold.  How long before the layoffs begin?  Did “they” the President and his “Amerika First” advisors contemplate that our people would be the ones to pay the bill for the war?  Yes, they are not stupid.  They just don’t care.

Our country is just over two hundred years old.

How many are the ways to die young.

Resistance to tyranny is necessary to creating a humane future.  Thanks to John Huges for this magnificent cinematic tale, The Breakfast Club
