Cosmic Harmony
Monday, the sun shines, – a promise of outdoor comfort. I plan to attend to the back yard. The result of ample rainfall is robust growth of all manner of vegetation. A manicured back yard is a singular delight. A seasonal pleasure by my scale of values.
I have read about the holographic dimension of the concept of virtue/power in the taoist view of life and reality. That is to say that each thing, inclusive of humans, contains the totality of every thing else in adumbrated form. You contain the entire cosmos, that is, the noncoherent sum of all possible orders disclosed, — however faintly within your being.
Does not that idea, reduce the loneliness that we in the west are so imprudently inclined? The bias of Occidental culture is to individualize human animals, to suppose human knowing, human ethics, human appreciation of beauty, and human spirituality, to be categories distinct from nature. A counter to this unfortunate turn is welcome, according to my assessment of our condition as Americans.
And your thoughts?
Finally these photos were captured yesterday on the Fabyan Estate in Geneva by the Fox River.
