El Burrito Perfecto

El Burrito Perfecto

Saturday with a gentle rain. For the past two or three days it has rained off and on. Meteorologists describe a heat dome parked over the midwest, circulating humidity, moisture-laden air, elevated heat, interfacing with cooler flows, thus rain and sometimes high winds. So, plans are adjusted to the prevailing outdoor conditions; I lingered at Starbucks to finish a persuasive essay by David Bentley Hart. I didn’t want to put the piece down as the masterful writing described a view of materialist determinism, the infinite regress, “turtles all the way down.”

The essay is the first in Hart’s new book: A Gathering of Leaves – Extravagances and Ephemera. Get a copy!

And that was not all, Hart also vividly rendered the classical transcendent view of “reality” aligning with moral agency, that inner, personal, silent dialog that I have with myself. You know that cascading exercise of judgment from the quality of an omelette or a burrito to the compelling presence of a painting displayed on the gallery wall of Water Street Studios. A stiff asking price indeed, but I must have that painting…

From a burrito to painting in pastels I am being addressed by the cosmos… A training of sorts in good and evil.

Two angles of view of our shared human experience.

I think both happen to be true.

How about a tune? This works! Roar by Katy Perry.

Like Thunder!
