Plague Journal, Percival

These photos were taken in the backyard over the last 48 hours.  Spring is at the epitome of glory, flowering trees, wild flowers at the edge of the woods,  and the rabbit that makes a home by our creek.  We have named the rabbit Percival.  At this juncture in the season Percival finds plenty to eat.  I am aware that the rabbit is recognized as prey by many carnivores.  Whenever I catch sight of the rabbit I feel excitement and gratitude that Percival is lucky and alert enough to continue to be around.  Percival’s lesson:  it is good to be lucky; it pays to be aware.

Nature offers enjoyment and respite for us.  We are “of Nature.”  Its beauty is woven into a tapestry of life and death.
