Plague Journal, Pirate Ship

Walking a few blocks from the house after nightfall, we came upon the ‘pirate ship’ that we’d heard of.  This one was in celebration of Halloween.  Nevertheless the creators had a point of irony.  The ship was christened USS Covid.  Every ship has a captain, and a crew.   I captured some photos of the skeletal crew and the Captain standing behind the big wheel.  Just outside the circle of LED illumination was the skeletal form of a man dragged by rope in the sea behind the ship, someone who had been made to “walk the plank.”  If you pause to think, you encounter the icy thought; cruelty is inscribed within any enterprise bent on plunder.
