Saturday. A day begins without oppressive humidity, so far to invite outdoor activity. A promise of a pleasant and congenial session for the Batavia Farmer’s Market. Summertime’s weekly opportunity to gather with others on N. River Street parallel to the river is the counterpart to the agora, the open space where commerce, the forming of public opinion took place in the Athens of Pericles. have lived, this has been so. A link to our past, our rootedness as social, as convivial animals, entirely natural.

And “that” harmonizes with a sky, with the river that flows so majestically, impassively within view of everyone.

P.S. – No, I did not achieve my intent to visit the racetrack yesterday. Rain, lots of rain.
